Part Time Security Officer

Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as a Part-Time Security Officer at Central Dauphin School District. The ideal candidates will help maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors during school sporting, and after hours events. This role requires excellent observational skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to upholding the safety policies of the school district.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol school premises to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and property.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and alarms in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist in the enforcement of school policies and regulations regarding safety and security.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and facilities to identify potential security risks.
• Provide assistance and direction to students, staff, and visitors as needed.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and reports.
• Participate in training sessions and meetings to stay updated on security protocols and procedures.
• Assist with crowd control during school events and activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security or law enforcement is preferred.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Ability to pass a background check and any required training or certifications.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
