Appointment Type: Reassignment, Permanent Transfer or Permanent Appointment. Position Description: The SharePoint Systems Administrator plays a key role in implementing the new SFMTA SharePoint site, training key personnel on usage and administering content update. The incumbent will manage all aspects for SharePoint architecture, ensure a high level of usability and ease of navigation throughout all web sites and user interfaces.

Examples Of Duties And Responsibilities

  • Install, configure and support the SharePoint Portal Server and Windows SharePoint Services applications.
  • Build, deploy, administer, troubleshoot and provide day-to-day support to the MOSS 2007 environments.
  • Responsible for designing, architecture, availability, reliability, performance monitoring, and daily system administration.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintaining of the SharePoint documentation of procedures and processes and disaster recovery plans.
  • Perform typical administrative activities such as site creation, user issue resolution, monitoring of SharePoint and SharePoint server logs, activities, events and assets.
  • Troubleshoot SharePoint application issues; perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose SharePoint problems.
  • Work with other IT Staff to troubleshoot SharePoint servers; and align the SharePoint infrastructure with corporate needs.
  • Develop and recommend strategies for SharePoint growth, security and enhancements by maximizing functionality of SharePoint servers.
  • Assist in developing the strategy for optimal use of SharePoint and other collaborative tools within the organization.
  • Participate in working with end users on building and implementing portals and sites, multiple system integration and migration projects.
  • Change control and configuration management policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies related to SharePoint; analyze and implement the SharePoint security based on industry best practices.
  • Participate in the 24/7 on call support rotation.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Special Conditions

  • Verifiable and recent senior level experience designing, developing and supporting client server applications using Visual Basic, MS Access, SQL Server

Desirable Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of experience with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007/ Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and SharePoint Portal Server 2003/WSS 2.0
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with SharePoint Systems administration and as system administrator in a Windows environment
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement Microsoft's current Office SharePoint Server 2007 platform and supporting technologies including: SQL Server 2000/2005/2007, SQL Reporting Services, Internet Information Server 6.0, Active Directory, Microsoft Office desktop application integration with SharePoint, Project Server integration, and Windows Workflow Foundation
  • Strong infrastructure skills in an enterprise environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to work after-hours when necessary
  • Five (5) or more years of overall Information Technology experience
