What are the responsibilities and job description for the Events Manager for Visual and Performing Arts position at Central College?
The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to effectively perform the following:
- Assist in planning on-campus VPA events, festivals, and concerts including coordination of A/V, livestreaming, student staffing, set-up and tear down, publicity, social media.
- Assist with online ticket sales software and ticket sales at the door.
- Assist with travel plans for guest artists (hotel reservations, travel logistics, dinner reservations, accompanying paperwork, check requests for payment and reimbursements.)
- Assist with student travel for music ensemble tours and VPA conference attendance.
- Assist ensembles in planning for food stands during Tulip Time
- Coordinate student employment and training for VPA events.
- Assist in maintaining website postings and content monitors of VPA events.
- Assist with room scheduling for private lessons instructors

The successful candidates will have at least 2 years of college and strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency with social media. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in events planning and management / performing arts. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are needed for success in this position.
Our new colleague will assist faculty in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) with coordinating logistical support for musical and musical theatre performances, music festivals, livestreaming, social media posts, some aspects of travel arrangements for ensembles and student conference travel, and Tulip Time fundraising events. Some evenings / weekends required.
This is a 10-month (August - May), 24-hour per week position
Salary : $41,353 - $62,082
