SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Site Lead supports the daily operations of the assigned program site by assisting with staff supervision, implementing curriculum, maintaining a safe and engaging environment for youth, and supporting the Site Coordinator in delivering quality programming. The Site Lead serves as the on-site leader in the Site Coordinator's absence while ensuring YMCA standards and policies are followed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as an active member of the YMCA staff team, including availability to support school break camps, Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP), Recreation (Rec), and other program needs while school is in session.
  • Assists the Site Coordinator in providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for youth and staff across all program areas, including ASES, ELOP, and Recreation programs.
  • Supervises Program Leaders and participants during daily program operations and provides direction to staff as assigned.
  • Implements the monthly curriculum developed by the Site Coordinator, ensuring activities are delivered as designed and providing feedback regarding curriculum effectiveness.
  • Supports program setup, daily activities, transitions, and cleanup to ensure smooth site operations.
  • Responds to participant behavioral concerns by using positive behavior management strategies, redirecting students, and assisting with conflict resolution. Informs the Site Coordinator of significant behavioral incidents after communicating with the family and taking appropriate action.
  • Supports staff members in supervising children, maintaining ratios, and ensuring participant safety.
  • Assists with maintaining accurate attendance and participant records as directed by the Site Coordinator.
  • Builds positive relationships with participants, families, school personnel, and YMCA staff.
  • Assists with implementation of YMCA program quality standards, safety practices, and operational guidelines.
  • Serves as acting site leader during temporary absences of the Site Coordinator.
  • Attends required trainings and staff meetings.
  • Provides support at alternative program sites as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Provides overall leadership at the assigned site, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for youth and staff across all program areas, including ASES, ELOP, and Recreation programs.
  • Manages site budgets, ensuring monthly and annual expenses for staffing and supplies remain within established limits.
  • Supervises and supports site staff, ensuring appropriate staff coverage, adherence to child supervision requirements, and compliance with YMCA policies and human resources practices.
  • Assists with staff performance evaluations, coaching, and ongoing development.
  • Develops and implements monthly curriculum plans, snack menus, and staff schedules, including adjustments for minimum days, school closures, staff meetings, and trainings.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date records, including enrollment, attendance, behavior documentation, payment agreements, and emergency information for all participants.
  • Ensures compliance with California Community Care Licensing requirements, including maintaining site rosters, required documentation, and emergency disaster plans (licensed sites only).
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with families, school personnel, and community partners through consistent, professional communication.
  • Supports fee collection processes in accordance with established procedures.
  • Prepares and distributes monthly parent communications, including newsletters and program updates.
  • Plans and facilitates events and activities that encourage family engagement and participation.
  • Attends and promotes participation in branch and association wide trainings and staff development opportunities.
  • Ensures implementation of YMCA program quality standards, safety practices, and operational guidelines.
  • Provides support at alternative program sites as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
