SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall leadership, daily operations, and quality of the assigned program site. This position ensures a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for youth, while supervising staff, maintaining compliance with YMCA and licensing requirements, and building positive relationships with families and school partners. The Site Coordinator is accountable for program implementation, curriculum development, staff development, administrative oversight, and upholding YMCA standards and values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as an active member of the YMCA staff team, including availability to support school break camps, Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP), Recreation (Rec), and other program needs while school is in session.
  • Provides overall leadership at the assigned site, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for youth and staff across all program areas, including ASES, ELOP, and Recreation programs.
  • Manages site budgets, ensuring monthly and annual expenses for staffing and supplies remain within established limits.
  • Supervises and supports site staff, ensuring appropriate staff coverage, adherence to child supervision requirements, and compliance with YMCA policies and human resources practices.
  • Provides daily leadership and direction to Site Leads and Program Leaders by assigning responsibilities, monitoring program quality, supporting staff performance, and ensuring appropriate supervision of participants throughout the program day.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to Site Leads and Program Leaders while communicating performance concerns and recommendations to the Youth Development Director.
  • Develops, prepares, and oversees implementation of monthly STEAM-based curriculum for the assigned program site. Curriculum shall include an Opening Circle activity, a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) component, a materials list, step-by-step lesson instructions, visual examples or photos when appropriate, and projects designed to be completed within approximately one hour. Ensures curriculum is organized, developmentally appropriate, and easy for staff to implement.
  • Provides training, guidance, and ongoing support to Site Leads and Program Leaders on curriculum implementation to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery.
  • Develops and implements monthly curriculum plans, snack menus, and staff schedules, including adjustments for minimum days, school closures, staff meetings, and trainings.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date records, including enrollment, attendance, behavior documentation, payment agreements, and emergency information for all participants.
  • Collects, verifies, and submits daily attendance records and all required program documentation in accordance with YMCA policies and ASES, ELOP, licensing, and funding requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with California Community Care Licensing requirements, including maintaining site rosters, required documentation, and emergency disaster plans (licensed sites only).
  • Oversees the day-to-day operation of the assigned site by making operational decisions, coordinating daily activities, maintaining adequate program supplies, and ordering materials necessary for program operations.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with families, school personnel, and community partners through consistent, professional communication.
  • Serves as the primary staff member responsible for managing significant participant behavioral concerns by utilizing positive behavior intervention and de-escalation techniques. Provides individual supervision when a participant's behavior disrupts the program, communicates with parents or guardians as needed, determines when a participant may safely return to program activities, and coordinates early dismissal when necessary.
  • Supports fee collection processes in accordance with established procedures.
  • Prepares and distributes monthly parent communications, including newsletters and program updates.
  • Plans and facilitates events and activities that encourage family engagement and participation.
  • Attends and promotes participation in branch and association wide trainings and staff development opportunities.
  • Ensures implementation of YMCA program quality standards, safety practices, and operational guidelines.
  • Provides support at alternative program sites as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
