Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £23,557 and £26,754 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About The Role

We are currently seeking an Additional Learning Support Administrator to join our Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group.

As an Additional Learning Support Administrator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • SEND Processes & Learner Support Coordination – Support the management of SEND processes including referrals, support meetings, EHCP reviews and exam access arrangements, ensuring learners access appropriate Additional Learning Support.
  • Student Engagement & Customer Service – Act as a first point of contact for staff and students, providing clear advice and guidance while delivering a high level of customer service across all interactions.
  • Administrative & Record Management – Prepare and maintain accurate SEND documentation, learner files, timetables and support records, ensuring compliance with statutory and audit requirements.
  • EHCP & Systems Support – Coordinate EHCP consultations and annual review processes, manage tracking systems, and support tools such as CogNassist to enhance learner support delivery.
  • Teamwork, Compliance & Professional Practice – Work collaboratively within the ALS team, uphold safeguarding, equality, health & safety and training expectations, and contribute flexibly to departmental priorities.

About You

  • Qualifications, IT & Administrative Capability – GCSE English and maths (or willingness to achieve), with strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and commitment to gaining a Level 3 Business qualification.
  • Customer Service & Confidentiality – Minimum two years’ experience in a customer‑focused role, handling confidential information professionally while delivering a high‑quality, student‑centred service.
  • Data, Organisation &Accuracy – Strong ability to record, track and manage data accurately across systems, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage varied workloads to deadlines.
  • Communication, Teamwork & Values – Confident communicator able to work independently and as part of a team, contributing positively while promoting equality, diversity and College values.
  • Professionalism, Flexibility & Safeguarding – Reliable, adaptable and proactive, committed to safeguarding, maintaining professional boundaries, continuous development and flexible working across College sites.
