Full Time Personal Banker

FUNCTION OF JOB:

Personal Bankers play a key role in the growth of the bank. In many situations, they act as the first and continuous contact for all bank customers and non-customers alike. Personal Bankers shall provide efficient, courteous assistance to customers and non-customers seeking the use of bank services. The Personal Banker will provide knowledgeable help and advice to new customers who wish to open a new account and shall endeavor to cross-sell bank services to new customers and to existing customers.

Personal Bankers shall act as paying and receiving agents, processing customer transactions, opening and closing of new accounts, including Certificates of Deposit and IRA’s. In addition, they will be responsible for their teller cash drawer including the balancing and security of the assigned cash on a daily basis.

Personal Bankers shall be responsible for their individual customer portfolio, which includes all relationships of designated customers. They shall aggressively build relationships with customers to retain existing and attract new deposits. Personal Bankers will be responsible to develop selling programs to build their individual portfolio and subsequently utilize methods to retain those deposits they attract. They will actively participate in the bank sales management programs in order to increase the number of accounts and the account balances.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs all customer service and clerical duties related to opening new accounts of all

types including but not limited to checking, savings, money market, IRA’s, and certificates

of deposit.

2. Assist customers in utilizing all available and appropriate services for the bank by cross selling. Refers prospects to others who are more qualified and prepared to sell additional bank services or offer assistance and answer questions.

3. Responds to customer inquiries regarding account balances, etc. and answers customers questions whenever possible; takes stop payments and change of address information and completes necessary forms; process vehicle title and registration applications, process license renewal sticker when requested.

4. Performs additional direct customer related duties such as:

a. Cashing personal checks, payroll checks, and other commercial checks.

b. Sell money orders, cashier’s checks and auto license stickers.

c. Accept loan payments and safe deposit box rental payments.

d. Issue, renew, and cash certificates of deposit. Cashing of Savings Bonds.

5. Process ATM applications and issues ATM cards to customers. Demonstrates machine usage.

6. Develop and maintain "tickler" system for individual customer portfolio.

7. Provide continuous contact by phone, in writing, and in person for customers within individual portfolio or prospects. Responsible for targeted goals set forth for the Personal Banker program. Responsible for cross selling additional services through the bank’s On-Board Program to said customers and working with them to maintain existing relationships.

8. Assist immediate supervisor and all other bank employees in other areas as requested.

10. Ability to remember names of customers he/she has dealt with previously.

11. Should be "people-oriented", preferring a job with a high degree of customer contact.

12. Must be trustworthy and discreet regarding confidential information.

13. Must be able to demonstrate poise and effectiveness in dealing with new personal contacts.

14. Must be poised and effective in handling unfamiliar or difficult situations.

15. Willingness to adhere to established procedures.

16. Ability to handle several job responsibilities simultaneously.

17. Functions as a self-starter.

22. Ability to perform the following mathematical functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, computation of fractions, and accurate counting.

23. Must be able to operate the following machines and/or equipment: Computer with designated software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), calculator, copy machine, FAX machine, Compass XD, Teller Platform, Cardinal software, and coin processing machines.

24. Must be able to handle items of weight, including bagged and rolled coin.

25. Ability to use proper sales techniques for selling and cross-selling of bank products and services.

26. Must have a minimum of a high school education/graduation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
