What are the responsibilities and job description for the WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE position at Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired?
CABVI is seeking a Warehouse Associate to perform a variety of warehouse tasks using accessible tools and adaptive processes, including picking and order fulfillment.
KEY JOB ELEMENTS
Responsible for creating and applying finished goods product labels including but not limited to commodity code labels, expiration dating, and distributor part numbers.
Oversee Central Industries product repackaging, including the organization, inventorying, and disposition of any designated repack product. This would include the replacement of damaged packaging and ensuring product labeling for reprocessed goods.
Assist warehouse management with product backorders including reconciling customer orders to available product and requested shipment dates.
Support order fulfillment operations as needed, including but not limited to product selection and shipment processing.
Assist with product offloading and material handling as needed.
Maintain a clean, orderly, efficient and safe warehousing environment.
Minimize damaged products. Repack and rebox as necessary.
Achieve key performance indicators on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Adapts to change and completes other duties and projects assigned.
Consistently achieves annual performance objectives.
REASONING ABILITY
Must have the ability to prioritize demands and respond accordingly. Must have the ability to adapt to constantly changing multiple priorities. Recognize problems in the warehouse that affect the efficiency and safety of warehousing environment. Bring these problems to management’s attention and work with management to find a resolution. Must maintain strict adherence to CABVI’s mission statement and core values.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequently requires the ability to lift, sort & stack cartons weighing up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods. Accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the key job elements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Unheated warehouse environment, noise is moderate to loud.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Solid work history that demonstrates reliability. Warehouse work experience required.
