Reports to: Executive Director of Special Education and Student Services 

 

School Psychologist - Performance Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations for initial eligibility, reevaluations, and special requests in accordance with IDEA and Virginia Special Education Regulations.
  • Administer, score, and interpret cognitive, academic, behavioral, adaptive, and social-emotional assessments.
  • Prepare comprehensive written reports that include data-based recommendations to support instructional and behavioral planning.
  • Participate in eligibility, IEP, and Section 504 meetings and provide expert interpretation of evaluation results.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, counselors, and related service providers to support student learning, behavior, and social-emotional development.
  • Assist with MTSS implementation, including intervention planning, progress monitoring, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and assist in developing and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Provide short-term individual or group counseling and crisis intervention as appropriate.
  • Support threat assessments, re-entry planning, and division crisis response procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in division data systems and ensure compliance with all evaluation and reporting timelines.
  • Uphold NASP ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
  • Participate in professional development and apply evidence-based practices to support division initiatives.
  • Collaborate with community agencies, mental health providers, and families to support student needs.

Qualifications (Required)

 

  • Master’s degree required; Specialist-level Ed.S. or PH.D in School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Virginia license as a School Psychologist.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Virginia Special Education Regulations.

  • Experience with psychoeducational assessment tools and data-based decision-making.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel between school sites.
  • Ability to respond to crisis situations as needed.
  • Ability to conduct assessments requiring sustained attention and interaction with students.

 

 

Salary : $80,000
