What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse | Risk Management position at CentraCare?
Find your purpose as a Risk Management RN with CentraCare! You'll lead at the enterprise level with clinical high reliability services focused on patient and caregiver safety, clinical risk management and patient and caregiver experience. These functions are aligned through principles of High Reliability Operations (HRO). This role will work collaboratively with operating structures across the enterprise. The role's specific focus includes responding to clinical concerns resulting in or potentially resulting in patient harm; facilitating early investigation of concerns; working with clinicians and administrators within the system to conduct pro-active risk assessments. You will also review and investigate occurrence reports, review adverse and sentinel events, patient care complications and to identify issues, potential liability concerns and systems breakdowns. This role assists in implementing and supporting HRO in the context of patient and caregiver safety, clinical risk management, and patient and caregiver experience. This role also serves as a proficient practitioner whose practice encompasses a wide range of responsibility, accountability, and performs critical reviews of care performed by a risk management, peer, and/or group of peers in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and current policies.
Schedule:
- Full-time | 72 hours every two weeks | Hybrid
- Day shift | 7:00am - 4:30pm
Pay & Benefits:
- Starting pay begins at $89,419.20 per year; exact wage determined by years of related experience
- Salary range: $89,419.20 - $134,118.40 per year
- Salary and salary range are based on a 1.0 FTE, reduced FTE will result in a prorated offer rate

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required; master's degree in nursing preferred
- 3 years of clinical experience required
- 2 years of experience in peer review coordination and/or risk management required
- 2 years Quality Management, Patient Safety, Process Improvement Consultant Experience required
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota is required
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management certification required within 5 years from date of hire
- Working knowledge of medical/legal issues in health care with special emphasis on documentation issues required
- Ability to conduct patient interviews regarding grievances, potential threats, and allegations, effectively facilitating communication and achieving optimal resolution for all parties involved
- Proficiency in excel and other Microsoft Office software applications
- Experience in data analyses, visualization, and evaluation preferred
