What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Information Analyst position at Centra Medical Group?
The Health Information Analyst performs a variety of Health Information functions including scanning and faxing. The Analyst reviews patient records for accuracy and completion of required documents (i.e., history and physical, consult, operative note, discharge summary), signatures and dates according to Centra policies, and processes orders.
High school graduate or equivalent
One (1) year previous medical record experience.
Computer literacy
Skilled in written and verbal communication
Skilled in general office procedures and equipment
Excellent customer service skills.
Retrieve records from referral sources and the health system electronic medical record
Assist with patient and office supply orders
Review documents for completeness
Update name changes within the electronic medical record system upon notification.
Scan documents into the electronic medical record system
Fax orders and documents to providers for signature
Track physician orders and monitor for timely completion
Scan orders and clinical documentation into electronic health record
Assist with printing, faxing, and mailing documentation for chart audits, appeals, and medical record requests
Responds promptly and courteously to requests from medical staff, patients and peers (i.e., priority dictation requests, release of information requests, coding queries, etc.).
Distribute copies of transcribed reports as indicated by carbon copy documentation.
