Position Overview
Centinela Valley Endoscopy Center is currently seeking a dependable, professional, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory surgery center team on a per diem basis. This role will support daily clinical operations and assist nursing staff, physicians, and procedural teams in delivering high-quality patient care within a fast-paced surgical center environment.
The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, team-oriented, and capable of working efficiently while maintaining professionalism and excellent patient service standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Assist clinical staff with daily patient care and procedural workflow
* Prepare patients for procedures and assist with room turnover
* Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and intake information
* Assist with patient transportation and recovery room support as directed
* Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies
* Maintain cleanliness and infection prevention standards throughout the facility
* Support nursing staff and physicians during patient care activities
* Assist with inventory management and stocking of clinical supplies
* Ensure accurate documentation within EMR/EHR systems
* Provide professional and compassionate patient interaction at all times
* Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
* Current Medical Assistant certification preferred
* Minimum 1 year of medical assistant or clinical experience preferred
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
* Professional demeanor and strong patient service skills
* Knowledge of infection control and patient safety standards
* CPR/BLS certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience in:
* Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
* Gastroenterology
* Endoscopy
* Pre-op or Recovery settings
* Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
* Experience with EMR/EHR systems
