What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Control Charge Nurse position at Centerville care and Rehab?

Responsibilities
- Assess patient’s health condition and progress
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by doctors
- Monitor vital signs and ensure the proper functions of feeding tubes, catheters and other equipment
- Develop and Implement Infection Control Policies
- Provide Infection Education and Training
- Respond to Infection Outbreaks
- Record patient medical histories and symptoms
- Respond to patient emergencies and alerts doctors when necessary
- Educate patients and their families on managing illnesses or injuries
- Follow handover procedures for shift change
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Communicate with patients and their families to inform them about treatment plans
- Other duties as assigned
The hours required for this position can be flexible. 8 hours a week is required for the infection control portion of the job description.
Qualifications
- Work experience in a nursing role
- Infection Preventionist Certification - Can be obtained on the job
- Excellent knowledge of emergency care and advanced nursing procedures
- Strong multitasking and decision-making skills
- Current state nursing license
- Degree in nursing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
