Activities Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our assisted living and skilled nursing communities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for individuals with aging issues and disabilities, fostering a supportive environment that promotes social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being.

Duties

• Plan, organize, and implement recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
• Assist residents in participating in various activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to develop individualized activity plans that align with residents' care needs.
• Facilitate group activities such as games, arts and crafts, music sessions, and exercise classes.
• Provide support for residents with disabilities or memory care needs, ensuring their engagement and participation.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback on activities.
• Foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages socialization among residents.

Skills

• Experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals of varying abilities.
• Knowledge of recreational therapy practices and aging issues counseling is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or memory care challenges.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
• Compassionate approach towards caregiving and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others.
• Flexibility to adapt activities based on resident needs and preferences.
