Summary The Elementary After Care Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for elementary aged students during after-school hours. This role includes supervising children, facilitating activities, and assisting with their needs to ensure a positive and structured after-care experience. Duties Supervise and ensure the safety of children in the after-care program. Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, such as games, crafts, and outdoor play. Assist children with homework or quiet reading time as needed. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment that fosters learning and growth. Ensure smooth transitions between activities, including snack time, outdoor play, and dismissal. Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's behavior and any incidents that may occur. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure an organized and efficient program. Track student attendance and assist with proper dismissal procedures. Requirements Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting. Ability to manage a group of children and foster a positive, respectful environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. CPR and First Aid certification (preferred). Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with children. Hours: Part-time, Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
