About the Role
NOW HIRING: Attorney Adviser. We're looking for an attorney to review administrative adjudicatory decisions, analyze complex legal issues, provide advice, and develop proposed agency actions.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze decisions and records of the Provider Reimbursement Review Board (PRRB)
- Develop recommendations for the Administrator's/Deputy Administrator's approval on proposed agency actions
- Coordinate and develop the agency's position concerning adverse court decisions
- Evaluate and respond to legal and technical arguments from sophisticated legal and actuarial counsel representing Medicare Advantage organizations in proceedings involving very large sums of money
- Analyze and resolve highly complex issues at the intersection of Medicare Advantage law, actuarial methodology, and medical coding standards, often in cases of first impression as the RADV program evolves
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from an accredited school
- Active bar membership in good standing, eligible to practice in the highest court of a state, US commonwealth, US territory, or DC
Required Skills
- Experience analyzing legal issues to draft decisions or documents
- Background interpreting legislation or materials to advise management on how to proceed
- Experience utilizing policies and legislation to review or edit documents for compliance

Pay range and compensation package
Salary: $143,913 - $187,093/year
Location: Woodlawn, MD (Telework eligible)
