Job Summary
This position is responsible for directing the organization's monthly financial reporting and accounting, accounts payable, and reconciliation practices through analysis of monthly and year-to-date financial performance and analysis of variances relative to financial performance.
Essential Job Functions
- Participates in annual budget and related strategic plan process.
- Coordinates and directs adherence to budget, audit, tax, accounting, accounts payable, and insurance activities for the organization.
- Evaluates the organization's financial position and issues monthly reports on the organization's financial performance.
- Recommends financial policies and procedures to ensure internal compliance with organization financial policies and procedures.
- Assures implementation of internal controls and generally accepted accounting procedures accounting.
- Participates in the creation of annual budgets and monitors ongoing performance to budget for each department of the organization.
- Coordinates with external firms to organize the preparation and issuance of the organization's annual tax and other reports.
- Prepares financial and statistical reports required by the CEO, Board of Directors, Senior Management Team, and State/Federal regulations and program requirements.
- Presents the financial statements at Board of Directors meetings with explanations for variances and comparisons to benchmarking data.
- Ensures all insurance coverage’s including directors and officers, malpractice, general property, etc. are in place each year.
- Coordinates the recruitment, supervision, training, and evaluation of the Finance department staff.
- Understands and adhere to all HIPAA regulations to maintain our patients’ privacy.
- Requires regular, predictable attendance.
- Flexibility is essential for success with CFG and on occasion, our employees may be asked to complete projects and tasks that could be outside of their normal scope of duties.

- Knowledge of the principles of financial management sufficient to direct professional staff and coordinate all aspects involved with fiscal requirements.
- Knowledge of financial and budgetary practices to develop annual budget, analyze financial data and patterns, and prepare financial statements.
- Knowledge of strategic business objectives and employee performance objectives.
- Knowledge of the competitive managed care marketplace and he integrated healthcare delivery network.
- Knowledge of governmental and health care fiscal regulations and reporting requirements.
Skills:
- Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve objectives.
- Skill in evaluating operations as they relate to policies, goals and objectives, costs, and rate levels.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Skill in identifying, analyzing and resolving accounting and financial problems.
Required Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance
- 5 years of experience in financial/accounting management
Preferred Experience
- CPA
- Experience in health care financial management
- QuickBooks
- Epic
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, or sit for extended periods of time.
- Physical demands: percentage of time spent in each activity (estimate)
- Walking 15% - assisting patients, delivering information personally to other departments, collaborating with other department employees.
- Sitting 85% - answering the telephone, scheduling appointments and procedures in the call center, working at the front desk, working on the computer.
- Number of pounds that must be lifted, carried, pushed or pulled: up to 20lbs.
- Climbing on step ladders to reach top shelves, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, fingering (like keyboarding, controls on a scanner, fax, etc.)
- Ability to speak clearly to be understood by our partners and employees.
- Ability to hear within normal range. Able to hear on the phone.
- Acuity near and far. Ability to see within normal parameters, and to distinguish colors.
- Ability to work for extensive periods at computer keyboarding.
- Works in a well-lit heated/air-conditioned environment. Temperatures between 68 and 74 degrees.
- Work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
