Smog Technician / Automotive Technician
Full‑Time
Constellis is seeking a skilled Smog Technician / Automotive Technician to support our fleet operations in a fast‑paced service and maintenance environment. This role is ideal for an experienced technician who takes pride in high‑quality diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and state‑regulated smog inspections.

- Perform state‑regulated smog inspections and required repairs
- Conduct skilled repair and maintenance on gasoline‑powered vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine system issues
- Disassemble components and inspect parts for wear and failure
- Repair, rebuild, or replace pumps, compressors, radiators, AC components, and fuel systems
- Replace, realign, and adjust brakes, suspension, and drivetrain components
- Overhaul and repair gasoline and diesel engines
- Perform preventative maintenance, including fluid changes, electrical checks, and exhaust repairs
- Maintain fleet reliability and safety standards
- Provide temporary coverage at another shop within your zone as needed (holidays, vacations, sick leave)
- Support additional duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Vocational/Technical training in automotive repair plus 5 years of hands‑on experience (or equivalent experience/education combination)
- Valid California Driver’s License
- ASE A5 Certification (highly preferred)
- ASE Master Automotive Technician and/or Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician (preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and diagnostic skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding role (lifting up to 50lbs, standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching)
- Ability to adapt in a fast‑changing, operational environment
- Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 – $29.00 (based on experience)
