What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tower Lead position at Centerline?
The Tower Technician Lead is responsible for overseeing field operations related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems on tower structures. This role leads and mentors crew members, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.
As a Cell Tower Lead, one will have a complete understanding of the wireless industry. 90% of the time will be spent onsite climbing cell towers. One will fully grasp all aspects of the initial training of the Associate Tower Technician and the Tower Technician. The Tower Lead will assist in developing and planning complete site build (as it pertains to the SOW at hand). One will share ultimate responsibility for quality of SOW deliverable. The Tower Lead will assist in identifying change orders, obstacles and safety concerns that may impede SOW timeline. One will possess leadership skills to direct all top side activities. The Lead will support the Foreman when on the ground.

What You Will Do
- Assist in the installation, inspection, and maintenance of wireless communication systems, including antennas, cables, and related equipment
- Climb communication towers and structures at various heights under supervision, following all safety protocols
- Support rigging operations, including lifting, positioning, and securing materials and tools
- Perform ground support tasks such as equipment staging, tool preparation, and site cleanup
- Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Participate in training programs to develop technical skills and industry knowledge
- Maintain clear communication with crew members and supervisors on job site activities
- Ability to interpret and build to CD’s, RFDS, MA, SA, & SOW
- Proficient in safe climbing and industry rigging operations
- Proficient in rigging/signaling best practices
- Proficient in RF and steel install/modification
- Ability to exhibit strong leadership skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to obtain required closeout documentation
- Effective communication skills
- Minimum 2 years' experience preferred
- Must be able to work 40 hours per work, overtime, weekends and outages as needed
- Reliable transportation/valid Driver's license
- Onsite at job locations.
- Potential exposure to outdoor elements
- Travel up to 75%
