Job Summary
Tower Generator is seeking an Accounting Assistant to partner with the Controller on the company's AP, AR, Inventory and other administrative functions. We are looking for a highly detailed and experienced professional with a strong understanding of “Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)” to support and maintain general accounting functions.
Accounting Assistant duties include but are not limited to:
Accounts Payable:
- Match vendor invoices to packing slips
- Enter vendor bills into Quick Books
- Submit weekly proposed A/P runs for President and Controller to review
- Issue AP checks and mail
- File paid invoices
- Maintain vendor files including W-9s, COI, resale and Tax-Exempt certificates
Accounts Receivable:
- Generate customer invoices and distribute via email and/or USPS
- Take phone calls for credit card payments and process same in Square
- Record deposit payments into Service Fusion & Quick Books
- Perform bank deposits – both remote deposit and physical bank runs
- Collections – including calls, emails and certified mailings
Inventory:
- Maintain Excel inventory tracking spreadsheet
- Conduct physical inventory as requested
- Receive whole goods into Quick Books
- Notify coordinators when whole goods have been received
Other job requirements include but are not limited to:
- Assist Controller with special projects and tasks as requested
- Post office runs/open mail
- Answer phones
- Answer customer and vendor invoice questions
- Send / Receive W-9s, Resale and Tax-Exempt Certificates as well as COI as needed
- Assist with payroll hour calculations
Job Qualifications
- 3 years of Accounting AP, AR, and reconciliation experience
- Strong organizational skills: highly accurate and detailed is a must
- Skilled at prioritizing duties
- Quick Books required
- Excellent communication
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Highly motivated self‐starter, hands‐on, team player that displays deadline urgency
- Excellent planning, problem‐solving, and communication skills
- Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and able to perform in multiple capacities
- Strong organizational skills; highly accurate and detailed; skilled at prioritizing duties
- Experience with Quick Books and other financial reporting tools, software, and databases
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and advanced excel capabilities
- Associate degree in accounting or finance or comparable experience
