Job Summary

The Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing maintenance, repair, and operational support activities across multiple facilities and grounds. This role develops and implements maintenance strategies, leads a team of support staff, and ensures operational excellence while maintaining facility integrity, driving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance plans and quality standards for facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment.
• Manage workflow, scheduling, and resource allocation across multiple sites.
• Oversee contractor relationships and large-scale maintenance projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and biosecurity measures.
• Direct maintenance of critical systems, including power systems and waste management.
• Coordinate with Production teams to prepare facilities for operational activities.
• Collaborate with department leaders to align facility management with business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Oversee truck wash operations to ensure vehicles are properly washed, sanitized, and documented according to biosecurity guidelines.
• Manage equipment maintenance requests, work orders, and purchase orders.
• Procure tools, equipment, supplies, and training necessary for shop operations.
• Deliver prompt, professional solutions to internal customer needs while identifying opportunities for service improvements.
• Assist with purchasing vehicles and equipment to support operational needs.
• Manage emergency repairs and preventative maintenance programs for all vehicles and equipment.
• Provide oversight of fleet scheduling, dispatch operations, and vendor relationships.
• Develop fleet maintenance schedules and vehicle replacement plans.
• Monitor vehicle performance, identify improvement opportunities, and optimize fleet efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five (5) or more years of facilities management or support operations experience.
• Three (3) or more years of leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Experience managing projects, budgets, and operational priorities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in agricultural or food production facilities.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements within the agriculture industry.
• Experience with energy management and sustainability initiatives.
• Experience using Facilities Management Software and CMMS systems.

Work Environment

This position combines office responsibilities with hands-on oversight across multiple facilities. Regular travel between locations is required to inspect facilities, oversee maintenance activities, and support operations.

The role may require working in production environments, outdoors, at heights, or in confined spaces. Flexibility is necessary to respond to emergency maintenance issues and support critical operational projects when needed.
