Your Role
As a Literacy Coach Consultant, you will serve as a trusted partner and instructional coach for K–3 teachers and school leaders. This role is hands-on and impact-driven: you’ll deliver onsite, job-embedded coaching, model Science of Reading-aligned instruction, and support teachers with phonics and structured literacy programs.

What You’ll Do
School-Based Coaching (Onsite Role)
- Deliver job-embedded coaching to K–5 teachers, including co-planning, modeling, side-by-side coaching, and debriefing.
- Support teachers in implementing core phonics and structured literacy programs such as UFLI, Heggerty, Orton-Gillingham, Bridge the Gap, Phonics for Reading, REWARDS and HMH.
- Use Acadience, mCLASS, and classroom assessments to drive instructional planning, group students, and accelerate reading growth.
- Provide feedback and professional learning aligned to the Science of Reading and district literacy priorities.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with teachers and leaders to ensure coaching impact and sustainability.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Reading, Literacy, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field.
- 3 years of K–5 classroom teaching experience with a strong record of student literacy growth.
- 2 years of literacy coaching and/or professional development delivery.
- Deep knowledge of the Science of Reading, structured literacy, and foundational reading skills.
- Strong ability to facilitate adult learning, lead coaching cycles, and provide actionable feedback.
- Experience supporting ELLs/MLLs, students with disabilities, and struggling readers.
- Expertise with evidence-based reading programs (UFLI, Heggerty, Orton-Gillingham, Bridge the Gap, Phonics for Reading, REWARDS, and HMH).
- Experience using Acadience or mCLASS for progress monitoring and instructional decision-making.
