What You’ll Do
The Center for Student Achievement Solutions (CSAS) is seeking an experienced Lead Literacy Coach Consultantto inspire educators and accelerate student achievement in Grades K–3. This dual role blends direct school-based coaching with leadership and mentorship of CSAS Literacy Coach Consultants, making it ideal for someone who thrives on both impact in classrooms and influence across multiple schools.
What You’ll Do
- Provide job-embedded coaching to K–3 teachers in NYC schools (modeling, co-planning, and side-by-side support).
- Mentor and lead CSAS Literacy Coach Consultants, ensuring excellence and fidelity in Science of Reading and structured literacy practices.
- Support teachers with core phonics programs (UFLI, Fundations, Heggerty, Orton-Gillingham, Really Great Reading, etc.).
- Use data-driven instruction (Acadience, mCLASS, classroom assessments) to accelerate growth for ELLs, MLLs, students with IEPs, and struggling readers.
- Master’s in Reading/Literacy or related field.
- 7 years of K–3 teaching experience with measurable literacy growth.
- 5 years of literacy coaching/professional development experience.
- Expertise in the Science of Reading and structured literacy.
- Strong ability to lead adult learning, mentor peers, and influence instructional practice.
