POSITION SUMMARY

The Information Technology Specialist for the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) is one of moderate responsibility.  The Information Technology (IT) Specialist reports to and works under the direction of CORE’s Chief Information and Supply Chain Officer. 

This person will be responsible for day-to-day desktop support, hardware/software installation and maintenance, creating and maintenance of technical documentation for users at main office and remote locations.  Provides support on a wide range of applications and Operating Systems including but not limited to Windows Server 2008 and 2012, Windows 10, VMWare View, Microsoft Office 2016, and SharePoint.  The IT specialist will support first level network, print and connectivity issues. audio/visual, telephony, and photography

 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Acts as initial contact for all internal and external customer technical support issues for computer workstation hardware and software, network, operating system, printing, and Internet access problems. Duties include recording the problem, first level problem resolution, and problem escalation within Service Level Agreement to appropriate IT Team Member.
  2. Performs installs, upgrades, moves, adds, and changes for computer workstation hardware and software, printers, CD-ROM drives, telephones and other peripheral devices.
  3. Data backup and recovery operations utilizing Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint
  4. Maintains accurate software and hardware inventory and tracking systems.
  5. Performs preventive maintenance for computer and/or peripheral equipment.
  6. Maintains computer documentation, including but not limited to tracking and monitoring the problem resolution process to verify all end user requests are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  7. Conducts new hire computer orientation and new computer setup.
  8. Provides appropriate training to current users with various software packages.
  9. Maintains Confidentiality of CORE business.
  10. They may, from time to time, be assigned additional job-related functions by their immediate supervisor, Leadership, or the President/CEO.

 

Qualifications:

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Associates Degree, Certification or equivalent experience in a related field with strong technical knowledge of PCs, laptops, printers, and peripheral hardware devices. Strong working knowledge of Windows, AV support, Microsoft Office, virus protection, and data recovery required.
  2. Good working knowledge of TCP/IP in a LAN environment.
  3. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  4. Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a team is required.
  5. Must be able to work 40 hours per week with schedule adjusted to accommodate organizational needs.  This position participates in an on-call rotation.
  6. Ability to transfer up to 30 pounds frequently.

 

 

DEGREE OF JOB DIFFICULTY

 

The Information Technology Specialist is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.  As an assistant to the Chief Information and Supply Chain Officer, the degree of job difficulty falls into the considerable range.  Undetected or inappropriately handled problems with the network and/or inappropriate management of the database could lead to loss of vital information necessary to the daily operation of CORE.
