Essential Job Responsibilities: Part-time Position
1. Accurately and thoroughly documents medical visits and procedures as they are being
performed by the physician. The physician will review all documentation completed by the
Scribe and close the encounter.
2. Checks schedules and ensures pre-visit information is completed.
3. Enters required orders, as directed by the physician/provider, in the patient’s EHR. Enters
any additional information as appropriate in the EHR.
4. Adheres to all meaningful use workflows.
5. Assures quality of care by maintaining clinic standards of care while adhering to
requirements of other governing agencies.
6. Protects patients and employees by complying with infection control policies and procedures.
Adheres to expectations of required/mandatory training.
7. Communicates to appropriate staff any patient concerns, issues, cancellations, etc. Consults
with the immediate supervisor about any system problems.
8. Obtains lab/radiology reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.
9. Manages and updates charts to ensure that information is complete and filed appropriately
10. Respects and promotes patient rights
11. Responds appropriately to emergencies
12. Works as a productive member of the team helping co-workers as needed and/or assigned
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High school education.
Medical Assistant - experience preferred.
Experience: Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility or any
equivalent combination of experience.
