General Summary:

A nonexempt position responsible for coordinating management of the physical facilities and related services including supplies, maintenance, housekeeping, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), grounds maintenance.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Contacts appropriate vendors to secure bids for all maintenance related projects.
2. Coordinates and schedules maintenance and cleaning activities to ensure facilities are clean, safe, sanitary, and conducive to the delivery of quality patient care.
3. Manages, coordinates and monitors all outside vendors relating to building maintenance, grounds, equipment, services.
4. Preforms routine maintenance throughout the facility and on equipment.
5. Oversees performance and maintains records of cyclical maintenance projects.
6. Assists with and coordinates assigned building projects, construction, and renovation.
7. Coordinates all building safety issues with the OSHA Compliance Officer for any safety concerns. Assists with development and implementation of disaster plan. Assists with training staff in use of fire extinguishers and evacuation procedures.
8. Ensure all Safety Data Sheets are current and on file.
9. Other duties as assigned.
10. Backup/support for Inventory Specialist.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma and some college preferred.

Experience: Minimum one year of experience in building/grounds maintenance with some healthcare experience or any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by the Controller and/or Human Resources.

Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
2. Knowledge of federal, state and local building standards, codes and requirements.
3. Knowledge of standard operating procedures for clinic operation, facilities management and engineering.
4. Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security rules.
5. Knowledge of OSHA safety practices.

Skills:
1. Skill in exercising independent judgment.
2. Skill in completing routine maintenance.
3. Skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with outside vendors, staff and patients.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones. Tools including small hand tools, small electric tools (i.e.: drill, saw, screwdriver, landscaping tools), etc.

Work Environment: Combination of office and grounds environment. May require occasional evening or weekend work.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing and walking; repeated bending, squatting, stooping, climbing ladders, scaffolding. May be exposed to hazards from use of electrical, mechanical/power equipment and toxic chemicals and gases. Occasionally must lift up to 50 pounds.
