Spokane, WA Full Time
POSTED ON 7/28/2026

The Center for Family Development is seeking a child counselor (primarily ages ~5-12). We are particularly interested in clinicians interested in working with higher acuity cases.

We welcome applications from fully licensed clinicians (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW, or Psychologist) and associates with experience working with children under age 12.

Clients will be seen in person. Candidates should be familiar with multiple therapeutic approaches and have a commitment to life-long learning. We are interested in therapists with experience, training, or an interested in play therapy, PCIT, or other child-focused modalities.

At CFFD, we value flexibility, autonomy, and creativity. Our team members are encouraged to pursue their interests and bring their ideas to life. We ensure clinicians are unencumbered by administrative burdens that affect their quality of care, and we prioritize supporting clinicians so you can focus on what you do best.

Start date: Flexible. Ideally mid-August through September, 2026. We are currently reviewing applications.

We offer:

  • Our full time status is based on reaching 20-24 billable hours per week within roughly 3-4 months.
  • Fully licensed clinicians: earn between $60-$66 per billable hour (~$75-82k per year seeing 24 clients per week). Associates (with one year of clinical experience): start at $57 per billable hour.
  • Paid onboarding.
  • A spacious, comfortable office with windows.
  • Weekly free supervision for associates.
  • No show and late cancellation protection – you are paid even if a client no shows (including Medicaid clients).
  • Flexible scheduling – you set your hours (so take Fridays off).
  • Work only with clients you’re comfortable treating.
  • Robust administrative support (billing, credentialing, scheduling, intake paperwork, and more).
  • Weekly consultation group.
  • PTO, six federal holidays, and two additional personal holidays.
  • 3% employer match IRA.
  • A Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) is available.
  • A $600 annual training stipend.
  • Supervising, mentoring, and leadership opportunities.

You’re a great fit if you:

  • Hold licensure in Washington state (PhD/PsyD, LICSW, LMFT, LMHC) or have an associates license (ideally with a minimum of one year of post masters experience, but less experience will be considered).
  • Are able to maintain an average of ~20-24 clients per week after a ramp up period.
  • Bring enthusiasm for teamwork and contributing to a positive, inclusive work culture.
  • Have training in one or more established child modalities.
  • Practice from a social justice and anti-racist framework and are confident working with diverse populations.
  • Are excited about ongoing learning and growth in your clinical work.

At CFFD, our mission is to provide exceptional counseling services grounded in compassion, respect, and client-centered care. We envision a world where people connect with what is important, where mental health is prioritized, and where everyone is empowered to lead a fulfilling life. We are a social justice oriented, anti-racist, veteran-affirming, and LGBTQIA affirming practice. We do not tolerate perspectives or practices that marginalize, exclude, convert, or harm others. If this resonates with your values, we’d love to hear from you.
