About us
Center for Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry is a small business in Northport, AL. We are a dental office with three practicing dentists as well as multiple hygienists. We work 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) from 7 am to 5 pm. We expect our staff to be at the morning meeting at 6:45 am, no exceptions, and often times, staff will work until closer to 5:30-6:00 pm to ensure that the office is cleaned and ready to go for the following work day.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during dental procedures and providing excellent patient care. Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the treatment area, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments to the dentist
- Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform dental assisting duties such as taking impressions, developing X-rays, sterilizing instruments, making temporary crowns, etc.
- Provide chairside support to the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical documentation systems such as Epic
- Communicating effectively with the front desk staff to ensure that the patient gets scheduled for needed treatment
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and excellent patient care
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of dental supplies
Experience: (EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED BUT PREFERRED)
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or relevant position
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and X-ray development
- Strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures, including sterilization techniques and infection control protocols
- Familiarity with electronic medical documentation systems such as Dentrix
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry
