Job Title: Reentry Therapist
Job Summary:
CASES is seeking a compassionate and culturally competent Reentry Therapist to provide trauma-informed, evidence-based care to adults impacted by the criminal legal system. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Therapist conducts assessments, develops recovery-focused treatment plans, and provides individual and group therapy. This role emphasizes integrated, person-centered care and collaboration with both clinical and justice system partners. They coordinate with internal and external partners—including psychiatrists, case managers, peer specialists, and justice system personnel—to ensure integrated, person-centered care.
The position is based within CASES’ Pretrial Services Department; serving participants with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and psychosocial needs. This is an ideal opportunity for a licensed clinician passionate about mental health equity and committed to supporting individuals impacted by incarceration in achieving long-term stability and wellness.
Shift Hours: This position is full-time Monday – Friday; shifts include 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 11 to 7pm.
Salary: The salary for the Licensed Therapist role is $72,100 per year.

Workplace Flexibility: Hybrid - 1 full day remote per week. Hybrid day begins after 90 introductory period.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Providing individual and group therapy in a mental health outpatient treatment and recovery services setting.
- Conduct screenings and assessments in accordance with evidence-based screening tools for depression, trauma, substance use, and risk and others.
- Use sequential evidence of screening for risk of violence, including suicide and utilize risk management protocols to appropriately manage and intervene.
- Develop person/family-centered, recovery-oriented treatment plans and review in collaboration with client, collaterals, and consented stakeholders.
- Coordinate with CASES psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, peers, case managers, and administrative staff.
- Utilize best and evidence-based approaches to treatment consistent with CASES’ organizational culture; health/mental health integration, rehabilitation and recovery, and understanding incarceration on treatment engagement.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR); document all services in accordance with CASES policies, NYS Office of Mental Health regulations and all relevant federal laws.
- Help ensure we maintain a safe working environment by reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions, e.g., liquid spill in hallway, to the appropriate facilities staff member or supervisor.
What We Are Looking For:
- Current New York State LCSW/LMSW/LMHC.
- Strong passion to work with those impacted by the criminal legal system.
- At least two years of work experience working with individuals diagnosed with a mental illness or substance use disorder.
- Demonstrated experience with diverse adults receiving mental health treatment, including delivery of treatment to individuals with serious mental illness, functional impairments and psychosocial needs (homelessness, criminal legal system involvement, poverty, unemployment).
