About the Role
The APRN at Center for Advanced Reproductive Services operates as an independent clinician within a collaborative, mission-driven fertility practice. You will carry your own patient panel, delivering comprehensive reproductive and ObGyn care from initial evaluation through ongoing management.
What You'll Do
Clinical Care
- Independently evaluate and assess patients, perform physical examinations, and take detailed medical histories
- Develop, execute, and assume full responsibility for individualized plans of care, including follow-up, coordination, and referrals
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and medications; perform routine and diagnostic fertility testing
- Perform specialized procedures including sonohysterograms, intrauterine inseminations, and transvaginal and low-risk obstetrical ultrasounds
- Recognize and appropriately manage or escalate crisis situations within scope of practice
Education, Research & Leadership
- Provide patient counseling and education
- Participate in medical student and health professional teaching
- Serve as a clinical consultant to peers and interdisciplinary colleagues
- Contribute to policy and procedure development and system improvement initiatives
- Participate in clinical research as opportunities arise
- Maintain accurate patient medical records
What You Bring
Licensure & Credentials
- Current Connecticut APRN license, maintained in good standing
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of APRN experience in ambulatory ObGyn and/or infertility
- Substitution: 3 years of full-time clinical experience in reproductive endocrinology nursing may substitute for 1 year of APRN experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and ObGyn/fertility clinical principles
- Proficiency with medications, interactions, and clinical decision-making
- Skilled in OB/GYN invasive procedures (sonohysterograms, IUIs) and transvaginal ultrasound
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams (MDs, RNs, MAs)
- Excellent communication skills — oral, written, and patient-facing
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure
Schedule & Location
This is a full-time (30 hours per week) salaried position, Monday–Friday, with a shift of either 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Rotational weekend and holiday coverage is required.
Home base is Middlebury, with travel to Branford and Farmington locations as clinical and growth needs require.
