Primary Location: Middlebury
At the Center for Advanced Reproductive Services, the Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner will independently perform a full range of tasks in the delivery of direct clinical care services for infertility patients.
DUTIES
- Evaluates and assesses patient illnesses/injuries
- Performs physical and specialized examinations
- Takes medical histories
- Develops plans of care
- Intervenes in crisis situations; handles issues within scope of practice and escalates as appropriate
- Orders medications
- Orders diagnostic tests and evaluates results
- Performs routine and diagnostic fertility testing; evaluates and reports results
- Independently sees patients
- Provides routine ObGyn and/or infertility care
- Assumes responsibility for patient follow‑up, coordination, and referrals
- Maintains patient medical records
- May develop policies/procedures and participate in system improvements
- May participate in clinical research
- Provides patient counseling and education
- Participates in medical student and health professional teaching
- Acts as a clinical consultant to peers and healthcare professionals
- Performs related duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Considerable knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Knowledge of ObGyn disciplines and fertility states
- Knowledge of medications, interactions, and reactions
- Physical assessment skills
- Counseling and teaching skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Skill in performing OB/GYN invasive procedures (sono‑hystograms, intra‑uterine inseminations)
- Ability to perform transvaginal and low‑risk obstetrical ultrasounds
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams (MDs, RNs, MAs, etc.)
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to formulate and execute plans of care
- Strong clinical decision‑making ability
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
General Experience:
- Current CT-licensed APRN
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Working Conditions:
- May be exposed to communicable and infectious diseases
Requirement:
- Valid license to practice in the State of Connecticut
- Maintains certification as an advanced practice nurse
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 1 year APRN ambulatory ObGyn and/or infertility experience
- May substitute 3 full‑time years of relevant clinical reproductive endocrinology nursing for 1 year of APRN experience
SCHEDULE (Variable)
This is a full‑time salaried position, generally:

Monday–Friday, either
- 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., or
- 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Rotational weekends and holidays
Although assigned to a home practice location, candidates must be able to travel to Branford and Farmington locations as needed and as clinical and growth demands require.
