About the Role
Centennial Protection Group is hiring highly qualified Armed School Safety Officers for private schools in Baltimore County, Baltimore City, and Harford County, Maryland. These are high-visibility, safety-first positions requiring professionalism, discretion, and strong moral character.
We are seeking candidates with a background in sworn law enforcement who are committed to maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
The hours vary slightly by location. One of the schools will have Saturday needs.
Note: Only applicants with current or retired sworn law enforcement experience (state, county, or local) will be considered. Corrections officers and SPOs are not eligible.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional, visible, and armed presence on campus
- Patrol school property and buildings on foot
- Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents, or suspicious activity
- Support school safety drills and emergency preparedness protocols
- Interact positively and respectfully with students, faculty, and staff
- Participate in pre-assignment, Virtus, and security-related training
- Uphold all standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and conduct
Minimum Requirements
- Retired or current sworn law enforcement (state, county, city, or municipal)
- Corrections and Special Police Officers (SPOs) do not qualify
- Maryland handgun or LEOSA Permit
- Physically fit and able to stand and walk for extended periods
- High school diploma or GED
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic computer and mobile application skills
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability for primarily fixed shifts (with limited evening/weekend coverage as needed)
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Valid Maryland Guard Card (preferred but not required)
Note: Selected candidates without a current Maryland Guard Card will receive licensing assistance from Centennial Protection Group as part of onboarding.
