Purchasing Specialist – Aerospace & Defense
Location: Clyde, NY
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist to manage strategic procurement, supplier sourcing, and contract negotiations for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers.
- Manage RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier contracts.
- Negotiate pricing, quality, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
- Drive cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Travel to Scotland quarterly to meet suppliers and represent the company.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 6 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
- Strong supplier management, sourcing, and negotiation skills.
- Aerospace, defense, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with MRP/EDI or purchasing systems.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
