Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation to maximize productivity.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of service technicians and advisors to uphold high standards of technical excellence and customer service.
- Oversee vehicle repairs and maintenance processes, ensuring all work meets safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct quality control inspections on completed work to guarantee customer satisfaction and adherence to company policies.
- Implement upselling strategies by identifying additional services or repairs that benefit customers while increasing revenue.
- Maintain accurate service writing, auto estimating, and documentation for all repairs performed.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a positive experience from intake to vehicle delivery.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, oil changes, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignments, and auto body repair.
- Hands-on mechanic experience with familiarity in automotive repair techniques such as automotive diagnostics and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling services while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Strong understanding of auto estimating software and service writing practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Experience in dealership sales processes related to automobile sales is advantageous.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage administrative tasks efficiently.
