The Investor Relations & Corporate Communications Senior/Executive Director is a cross-functional position primarily serving the areas of Investor Relations, Corporate Communications and Public Relations. The position directly reports to and partners with the Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs & Administration to successfully develop and implement an investor and public relations program and an internal corporate communications program that supports Celldex’s overall business image, strategies and objectives. This position will play an important role in Celldex’s planned transition from an earlier stage R&D organization to a Commercial entity. The position interacts across all departments and levels within the Company, including working closely and independently with executive leadership and key external stakeholders. In this role, the Senior/Executive Director will also execute on key special projects to support the achievement of corporate goals both within and potentially outside of the IR & PR functional area.
Responsibilities
- Engages with target audiences and develops relationships to support potential opportunities for Celldex within the financial and media communities, including investor outreach, reporter interface, etc.
- Conducts biotechnology industry research to uncover and analyze facts, stats and other information to inform IR/PR strategy. Utilizes strong Wall Street relationships to maintain an active ear to the ground.
- Supports the development of and crafts high quality written materials, including corporate messaging, company filings, press releases, Q&As, presentations, scripts, fact sheets and website content, adeptly managing the review and revision process across executive management and business owners. Strong command of technical, scientific and clinical content and ability to translate this content as needed for audiences of varying levels.
- Supports broad-based IR and PR activities, including coordination and travel to conferences (scientific and financial), investor roadshows, media activities, etc.
- Maintains database of investors/investor meetings, prepares briefing books and conducts diligence on funds and fund managers.
- Manages Celldex’s social media platforms working closely with agency of record.
- Performs day-to-day “administrative” tasks such as competitive intelligence gathering, blast emails, file management, proof reading, material development, media clipping, travel arrangements, schedule coordination, vendor management, etc.
- Plans events as needed, including logistics and coordination with vendors.
- Supports internal communications, including drafting content for Company intranet and other internal communication pieces.
- Leads special projects as required from initiation to closure to meet corporate goals. Ex: partnering with CEO and Commercial to set and manage sellside expectations on commercial modeling. Represent Corporate Affairs as needed for internal cross-functional projects.
- Communicate project updates and expectations to team members and stakeholders.
- Additional job-related responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to craft content for “varied” voices (CEO, CMO, CCO, CSO, etc).
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and able to rapidly produce high quality, compelling content in an evolving environment.
- Desire to actively monitor and critically consider life sciences industry trends.
- Demonstrated ability to execute resourcefully and independently.
- Ability to work calmly and maintain professional integrity in fast-paced, high pressure situations, working with big personalities and tight timeframes.
- Highly polished and articulate; fluid interaction with individuals at all levels and environments. Collaborative with strong cross-functional relationship building skills in a growing Celldex company and culture.
- Strong ability to handle details of a highly confidential nature.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Travel required.
Education/Experience:
- BA/BS/MS with a background in biotech or biology and/or business or finance with an aptitude for science.
- Minimum of 10 years working in Biotech/Pharma industry with a leadership role in IR & PR.
Compensation:
The expected base salary range for this position is $203,157 to $303,417.
We are committed to compensating employees equitably based on several factors including experience, education, licensure/certifications, skill level, location of the position, and availability of similar talent in a competitive market.
Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary bonus, long term incentive, 401(K) plan with employer contribution, health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
