Email Marketing Specialist

Reporting directly to the Head of the department, this individual contributor will serve as the primary execution engine for daily digital communications and website updates.This position is highly execution-focused, requiring an immediate plug-and-play professional who can hit the ground running, eliminate resource backlogs, and seamlessly collaborate with a cross-functional team of content creators and C-suite stakeholders. For a candidate who demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and strong performance, there is a distinct path for this contract role to convert into a permanent, full-time position. Responsibilities:Email Workflow Management: Manage and execute daily email marketing workflows from intake to deployment, utilizing Asana to track assignments, access content, and collaborate with internal stakeholders.Campaign Deployment: Build, format, and deploy 1 to 3 marketing emails per day within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, ranging from lengthy, complex newsletters to brief, visual-heavy communications.Web Content Management: Update and maintain digital content on the primary public website utilizing the Liferay platform (no heavy web development or coding required).Quality Assurance: Run rigorous QA and testing passes on all email campaigns to guarantee flawless visual layouts, functioning links, proper rendering, and error-free copy before routing.Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as a critical checkpoint in the internal review process, coordinating final test deployments with content authors, Chiefs of Staff, and C-suite leadership to reduce cycle time and ensure final sign-off.Brand Integrity: Follow established brand guidelines and instructions carefully to maintain the integrity of unique internal newsletter structures, while utilizing collaborative teamwork to suggest professional optimizations.AI Leverage: Embrace and leverage internal AI tools (specifically Claude) to assist with copy reformatting, layout structural efficiency, and production scaling.Platform Troubleshooting: Perform basic, ongoing digital platform troubleshooting, leaning on a resourceful mindset to solve minor technical layout issues independently. Qualifications:Mid-to-senior level experience in digital marketing or email production with a proven ability to work autonomously without hand-holding.Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) for email building and deployment. Proven, heavy, and recent hands-on experience specifically within the platform.Web Production Skills: Foundational proficiency updating public websites via a Content Management System (CMS). General CMS fluency is required (direct experience with Liferay is a major asset).Workflow Management: Direct experience operating within Asana or a highly dispensing agile project management tool to manage high-volume daily deliverables.Quality Assurance Focus: Exceptional, uncompromising attention to detail with a track record of catching formatting anomalies, broken links, and structural errors before public deployment.Collaboration & Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Highly adept at working with a variety of internal authors, navigating executive-level approval chains, and maintaining a positive, team-first attitude.Professional Adaptability: Strong willingness to listen, adapt to existing workflows, and follow explicit execution criteria, balanced with the professional maturity to offer proactive solutions.Preferred (Nice to Have): Prior experience utilizing generative AI tools (specifically Claude) to streamline content production, and/or previous experience working within professional associations, non-profits, or HR-related industries.The pay offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including education, work experience, job location, specific responsibilities, certifications, and more.
