What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Advocate position at Celina City Schools?
As a Family Advocate, you will partner with families to support their well being and promote children's
success in the Head Start program. You will make a meaningful impact on children's lives by promoting
health, nurturing environments and supporting families through various challenges. You will be
responsible for:
? Complete family strengths and needs assessments
? Support families in using community resources that enhance family well being and the children's
learning and development Coordinate referrals to social services
? Encourage parent engagement
? Maintain accurate documentation of interactions, assessments, and progress notes while
ensuring confidentiality and compliance
? Recruit and enroll eligible children and families
? Conduct home visits or satellite location visits
? Provide opportunities for parents to enhance their parenting skills and knowledge of development
needs of their children through training, meetings, and referrals
? Participate in planning, implementation and conducting of educational and enrichment activities
for families
? Engage with children and teachers in the classroom setting to enhance knowledge of and support
parent communication regarding child development, classroom events, and volunteering
? Collects and analyzes information to find new solutions to challenges as part of ongoing
monitoring in order to continuously improve services.

? Demonstrate knowledge of strength based goal planning
? Experience in case management and/or experience in programs serving low-income families with
young children highly preferred.
? Build trusting relationships with families of diverse populations while maintaining professional
boundaries
? Must be able to pass regular criminal history checks.
? Must submit to TB tests as required.
? Willing to work evenings or weekend if family needs require
? Are willing to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday
