Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive physical education curricula aligned with educational standards and tailored to students’ age groups and skill levels.
- Lead engaging lessons that incorporate a variety of sports, fitness activities, and movement exercises to promote physical literacy.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for all students.
- Assess student progress through observations, standardized testing, and performance evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, and extracurricular activities related to health and wellness initiatives.
- Adapt teaching strategies for students with special needs or those requiring individualized support, including working with children with autism or in special education programs.
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching physical education in classroom or school settings, preferably within private or early childhood education environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development, behavior management techniques, and classroom management skills.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, standardized testing procedures, and literacy education as it relates to health education.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate creative writing elements when appropriate for cross-curricular integration.
