Video Editor
Reports to: Film Lead
Location: Central Office
Summary of Role
The Video Editor captures, edits, and produces high-quality video content that tells powerful stories and connects people to Christ. This role involves filming, editing, archiving, and distributing videos across multiple platforms, including marketing, curriculum, social media, and church-wide events. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with a passion for excellence and an eye for innovation, motion graphics, and animation.
Position Status & Schedule
- Exempt, Salary
- Full-time (40 hours)
- Sunday through Thursday; may include evenings and weekends.
- Christmas, Easter, Pursuit Weeks (January/August), and Dream Team Appreciation service dates and times are blackout days for time off. Additionally, Tier 1 Conferences and Events are required workdays for this role. Other events may be required outside of your regular schedule; you will be informed in advance of any requirements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Creative & Technical Responsibilities
- Film, edit, and produce video content for marketing, storytelling, curriculum, social media, and other church initiatives
- Archive and manage media assets for efficient retrieval and long-term use
- Compress, convert, and upload videos for various platforms, including websites, social media, and internal distribution
- Collaborate on the production and maintenance of sermon and leadership podcasts
- Create and incorporate motion graphics and animations to enhance video projects
- Keep up with the latest video editing techniques and industry trends
- Assist in pre-production planning, filming, lighting, and sound setup for video shoots
- Adapt to and utilize various locations and environments to achieve the best visual storytelling
Leadership
- Work with the Film Department, Story Department, and other Creative Teams to conceptualize, pitch, and execute video projects that align with the church’s vision
- Train, inspire, and lead Video Dream Team volunteers, equipping them with skills in video production and post-production
- Collaborate with the Communications Team to ensure consistency in brand messaging across all video content
Contribute to the overall success of Celebration Church by performing all other duties as needed

Competencies
- Advanced video editing skills, with proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with motion graphics and animation is preferred
- Technical knowledge of cameras, lenses, lighting, and audio equipment
- Skilled in storytelling with a deep understanding of framing, pacing, and visual impact
- Ability to balance multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively under pressure
- Familiarity with social media platforms, video specs, and best practices for digital distribution
- Willingness to work occasional weekends and selected events
Education & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in video editing, production, or a related field
- Experience with motion graphics and animation is a plus
- Background in church or ministry video production preferred
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit, stand, and move around for extended periods
- Ability to lift and transport video equipment (up to 30 lbs.)
- Comfortable working in an open office environment
- Must be willing to work in various indoor and outdoor environments and temperatures for filming
- Able to move between Church locations and off-site shoots
