Responsibilities
- Safely load/unload chemicals into tanks, trailers, or railcars
- Inspect equipment and containers for contamination, damage, and compliance.
- Perform weekly, monthly safety checklists and equipment inspections
- Install appropriate placarding and labeling to railcars and trailers.
- Handle and store chemicals according to safety and environmental guidelines
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Clean and maintain equipment/work areas
- Perform troubleshooting of loading equipment.
- Operate a control system (console) responsible for loading of all products.
- Perform switching of railcars.
- Operate a yard truck for safe movement of chemical trailers.
- High school diploma or GED
- Physical strength and stamina
- Knowledge of DOT loading/securement regulations
- Good communication skills
- Familiarity with SDS and chemical properties
- Basic math for measurements and documentation
- Exposure to various temperatures and hazardous substances
- Day Schedule with rotating weekends as workload demands
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
