CEIS | Government: Professional Services for Government Agencies
Albuquerque, NM Contractor
POSTED ON 9/22/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/21/2025
CEIS | Government is seeking a highly experienced Lead Quality Control Engineer (LQCE) to oversee quality assurance and control efforts across complex government infrastructure and construction projects. This role is instrumental in maintaining compliance with contract specifications, safety standards, and construction best practices.

The LQCE will exercise discretion and independent judgment to manage quality control protocols in both the field and office. Depending on assignment, this individual may lead QC for a large single-site project or support multiple smaller project sites. Mentorship of junior QC staff and strong cross-functional collaboration are key aspects of this role.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain the Project Quality Process Log (QPL); submit recommendations to the QC Manager.
  • Under oversight of the Project Superintendent (PS), direct corrective actions for non-conforming work; issue stop-work as needed.
  • Interpret and enforce contract documents, plans, and applicable building codes; submit RFIs and ensure field implementation.
  • Coordinate daily test and inspection schedules based on trade partner requests and project phases.
  • Support field execution through in-house punch walks, tagging processes, and pre-final punch list documentation.
  • Audit subcontractor QC programs; engage with CEIS and client quality recognition initiatives.
  • Champion the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and lessons-learned efforts; serve as a lead advocate for these systems.
  • Participate in safety and housekeeping inspections per CEIS SAFE Program protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (preferred).
  • 35 years of experience supporting QC on large-scale commercial or government construction projects.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills across multiple trades and teams.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel templates), Prolog, Primavera, and AutoCAD.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Must understand specifications and code requirements across architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Moderate physical demands: must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; work may require climbing, crouching, stooping, and walking job sites.
  • Will regularly operate computers and office equipment; must have visual acuity for reading plans and performing field inspections.
  • Must be able to drive to and between project sites as required.
