Job Title: Electric Utility Standards EngineerLocation: Providence, RI Work Schedule: Hybrid Duration: one year with potential of extension or conversion OverviewOur client is seeking a Electric Utility Standards Engineer to join their team in Providence, RI. This hybrid role combines remote work, in-office collaboration, and in-field activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining work procedures, supporting new technologies, and ensuring safe and efficient operations across the electric utility enterprise.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with subject matter experts to design, develop, and update procedures, including checklists, job aids, and work methods.Coordinate reviews of new or revised technical documents with Safety, Enterprise Standards, Training, and other groups to ensure safe operation and maintenance of new equipment.Lead construction of equipment mock-ups and simulations for procedure development and training content.Develop communication strategies to improve understanding and adoption of work procedures through presentations, committees, process improvement meetings, and traveling roadshows.Support new technology initiatives and travel to operating companies as needed.Represent the client as an electric utility partner in industry committees.Identify and incorporate new technologies into procedures and training materials.Participate in emergency and storm roles requiring after-hours work when activated.Execute initiatives within Enterprise Standards to deploy new technologies and support grid modernization.Adapt to changing work locations; remote positions may require periodic in-person coordination.QualificationsBasic Qualifications:Five years of construction experience in Electric Utility field work (Journeyman equivalent); ORBachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline with two years of experience in Electric Utility field work (construction, maintenance, engineering, supervision).Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.Strong technical writing skills.Excellent verbal communication and presentation abilities.Skilled in facilitation and questioning techniques for working with subject matter experts.#INDGEN #ZR
