Survey Technician
Salary Range: $52,000 - $72,000 depending on experience
Role Overview
We’re seeking a Survey Technician as a key member of the office survey team assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of way acquisition, transportation, and construction surveys utilizing Civil 3D technologies. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the PLS with all aspects of the daily office workload.
- Supervise the survey crew in the absence of the PLS.
- Work independently as required.
- Daily uploading and downloading of data collectors.
- Daily Civil 3D tasks.
- Perform computer-aided design and drafting.
- Perform construction stakeout computations.
- Prepare plans for Boundary Surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, and PennDot right-of-way surveys.
- Assisting with survey computations.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret field data to create accurate maps, plans, and reports.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure survey accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in boundary determination, topographic mapping, and construction layout.
- Assist in maintaining and calibrate surveying equipment regularly.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety procedures.
- Continually advance knowledge with upgrades in technology.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- 3 years of relatable experience.
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred), and GIS applications.
- PennDot right-of-way, construction staking and as-built survey experience preferred.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and legal property descriptions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
