Job Summary:
The Director of Grant Development is responsible for leading CEDARS’s grant strategy, researching funding opportunities, and securing financial support from government entities, corporations, and private foundations.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Designing and executing long-term grant acquisition and business development strategies that align with the organization's mission and financial goals.
- Prospect Research: Identifying, vetting, and pursuing new grant opportunities and funding streams.
- Proposal Writing & Editing: Drafting, editing, and submitting complex, compelling grant proposals, budgets, and letters of inquiry.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensuring all post-award stipulations, financial reporting, and compliance requirements are met for awarded grants.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Working closely with finance teams, program managers, and executive leadership to align budgets and narrative outcomes.
- Perform other related assignments as directed by your supervisor.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of CEDARS.
- Maintain professional boundaries in the provision of services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in public administration, communications, human services (social work, psychology, criminal justice etc.), business administration or a related field. Master’s degree in a relative field is preferred.
- Three years of related experience with a broad understanding of grant and proposal writing strategies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, creativity, enthusiasm for development, and exceptional teamwork skills.
- Previous successful grant writing experience preferred.
- A genuine interest in and concern for all youth and families.
- Sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the clients and families CEDARS serves.
- Ability to work with other professionals in the organization and the community.
- Ability to represent CEDARS in a positive and professional manner.
