What will you be doing in this role:
The BMET I (Biomedical Equipment Technician) performs repair, preventive maintenance and calibration of medical equipment. Troubleshoots basic electronic circuits under close supervision; evaluates and resolves operational problems involving medical equipment at the request of clinical staff and department management; completes and records all required maintenance documentation; serves in on-call rotation.
- Adjusts, calibrates, lubricates, performs operational verification, tests electrical safety, and other tasks to ensure optimal performance and safety of medical equipment.
- Maintains an accurate and complete inventory of medical devices and systems in assigned areas.
- Schedules and documents work performed as directed by the department.
- Communicates clearly with users in patient care areas during rounds or while investigating reported malfunctions.
- Reviews and/or orders parts and materials so as to insure right items are ordered at right time from the most effective source and that prudent stock levels are maintained.
