What are the responsibilities and job description for the Band Camp - Trumpet Instructor position at Cedar Springs High School?
REPORTS TO: Band Director
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The Cedar Springs High School Marching Band has an immediate opening for a Band Camp Trumpet Instructor for the week of band camp, August 3-7, 2026 Must be a current employee of EduStaff or willing to become an employee of EduStaff.
Employment will begin August 3, pending completion of Edustaff registration and all required paperwork.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attendance at band camp
- Assist with show design
- Instruction of fundamental playing skills, show music, marching fundamentals, and show drill to the trumpet section
- Creating a positive, while challenging and competitive environment for students to achieve excellence
- Complete all paperwork in a timely fashion
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in marching in high school, at the collegiate level, in winter activities, or DCI preferred
- Previous successful marching band instruction at the high school level
- Extensive knowledge of brass technique and instruction
- Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team
- Able to have effective and positive communication with students, staff members and directors
- Responsible, professional, embodies high ethical standards and integrity
