Position: Education and Loan Specialist
As an Education and Loan Specialist at Cedar Growth, you will play a vital role in both lending and financial education. You will evaluate, service, and recommend the approval of consumer, credit repair, and home repair loans, while also providing clients with financial education on money management, budgeting, debt reduction, personal credit, and long-term financial wellness. This role places a strong emphasis on housing programs and HUD certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, service, and recommend approval for loan applications.
- Provide financial education workshops and one-on-one support for clients.
- Guide clients in developing money management, budgeting, and credit repair strategies.
- Support housing-related programs and pursue HUD certification.
- Build trust and deliver financial solutions tailored to Native communities.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Education, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Management, or related field; OR two (2) years of progressively increasing lending experience.
- Knowledge of economics, accounting principles, financial markets, banking, and financial data analysis.
- Combination of education and experience demonstrating financial and lending skills.
- Understanding of Native communities and their financial needs.
- HUD Certification, or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
- Strong personal financial management and credit practices.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving dishonesty or breach of public trust.
