Average Hours: 50 – 60 hours per week
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding on ships and marine structures, including repair and fabrication work
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions
- Weld using processes such as Stick (SMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) as required
- Repair and replace structural components including plates, frames, and bulkheads
- Ensure weld quality, penetration, and alignment meet specifications
- Operate welding equipment, torches, grinders, and hand tools safely
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following company safety standards
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to complete projects efficiently
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of welding experience in shipyard, barge, or marine environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques (SMAW, FCAW preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols
- Experience working with structural steel and heavy materials
- Ability to work in confined spaces and various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically able to stand, bend, lift, and perform demanding tasks
