What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator MN - 1st Shift position at CDI?
Description:
6:00am-2:00pm, Monday-Friday
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safe operation of laser, press brake/turret machine and various other tools used to complete project
- Create quality and accurate cuts/bends/folds according to blueprints.
- Inspect work for accuracy.
- Follow and enforce all CDI safety rules and regulations
- Ensure equipment is properly set-up & used in a safe manner & that all safety devices are in use.
- Operate forklift, if required and certified.
- Performs inspections on product before, during, and after the build following CDI’s standards.
- Monitor functionality of equipment and tools and request maintenance when required.
- Perform basic and preventative maintenance and repair as required.
- Effectively communicate with supervisors & other production staff to coordinate work schedules
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be willing to cross-train as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant.
- Required to have proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system.
- Other job-related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum 1-year experience operating laser, press brake/turret or other metal fabrication tools
- Excellent knowledge of fabrication machinery, electrical equipment, and hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Ability to use tape measures and other measuring tools
- Read and understand work orders and job schedules
- Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug test
- Must be able to effectively read, write and speak the English language
- Ability to frequently bend, twist, grip, squat and lift
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently, & lift 70 pounds occasionally
