Catholic Community Services of Western Washington and the Archdiocesan Housing Authority (doing business as Catholic Housing Services and Coordinated Care Agency) are outreaches of the Catholic Church in Western Washington. Program Description:

Catholic Community Services’ Counseling, Recovery & Wellness (CReW) Program is a licensed community mental health and substance use disorder treatment program and provider of the King County Integrated Care Network (KC-ICN). Our collaborative team focuses on serving adults with mental illness and/or substance use disorders to help improve individuals’ quality of life. Range of services includes diagnostic assessments, individual therapy, peer support, case management, group counseling, skills training, care coordination, medication management, and psychoeducation. Services offered emphasize building collaborative relationships with the persons served as the first step towards lasting engagement in treatment. Our team was created out of the need for onsite supportive services in our agency's housing and shelter programs, and we adapt our services to best fit the unique needs of our clients in a variety of locations throughout King County. How YOU can make a difference:

The Substance Use Counselor provides a range of counseling services including assessment and diagnosis, facilitation of treatment groups, individual counseling, case management services, coordination of care, and clinical documentation responsibilities for adults enrolled in treatment services.

 

Work location & Schedule:

  • On-site Westlake in Seattle
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week

Starting at $28.57 - $31.78/hour (D.O.E.) with a competitive benefits package:

Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment and Intervention:

  • Provide and/or facilitate a range of therapeutic responses and interventions, including case management, and/or skills training, intended to support the overall recovery of the individual.
  • Plan interventions collaboratively with treatment teams, focusing on a non-judgmental and strengths-based approach.
  • Participate in psychiatric consultation, staffing, and supervision.
  • As part of the treatment team, assist with medication monitoring, noting changes in symptoms, and reactions to medications or side effects.
  • Facilitate support groups that focus on a range of topics, some of which include: relapse prevention, concepts of recovery, education and health resources, activities of daily living skills, social skills, or others.
  • Case Management:

  • Assess individuals’ needs and required level of services, identify community resources to meet those needs, facilitate individuals’ access to services, and advocate for them on a continuing basis.
  • Provide and/or arrange necessary crisis response and stabilization services.  Respond to crises in a prompt, effective, and collaborative manner.
  • Seek clinical consultation as needed to ensure quality of care for individuals; participate in clinical review and case conferences for individuals on caseload.
  • Collaborate closely with staff in other agencies or programs such as housing, clinical, medical care to help coordinate care and ensure housing, medical, financial or emotional stability.
  • Represent the CReW program in a variety of settings to build awareness and develop community partners in coordinating new individual referrals.
  • Attend CReW staff meetings and other meetings and clinical trainings as required.
  • Comply with the agency’s clinical accountability policies and procedures; maintain current and complete clinical records; participate in quality assurance review when assigned.
  • Responsible for upholding a culture of privacy and security in a highly confidential work environment (HIPAA covered entity service area).
  • Comply with all CCSWW policies and procedures that involve access to and safeguarding individual Protected Health Information (all forms).
  • Document services provided using clear, accurate, and well-organized notes in an electronic health record system.
  • Track all expenses and mileages accurately, effectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Seek assistance and report incidents to the right people at the right time.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s level degree in a social service-related field.
    • Experience working with adults who suffer from mental illnesses.
    • SUDP or SUDPT certification with WA State Dept. of Health, or ability to obtain DOH credential within first week of hire.
    • If a SUDP-Trainee, must have accrued the first 50 hours of direct service required for individual practice.
    • One-year direct service experience working with vulnerable populations, including people who have mental health conditions and/or are currently or formerly homeless.
    • Possess basic knowledge of working with Co-Occurring Disorders.
    • Criminal history/ Background checks are required prior to employment.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    • Must be well organized and reliable in providing trauma-informed services to a diverse population.
    • Able to pay close attention to detail and be flexible within a dynamic program.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s level degree in a social service-related field.
    • Knowledge and experience with motivational interviewing techniques and working with a person-first and trauma-informed treatment model.

     

     

    Physical Requirements:

    Regularly required to sit, stand, reach stoop, talk and hear or otherwise perform any number of physical activities that may be required in completing daily tasks.
